hi curlies,
I'm Claire!
With five years of experience in the hair industry running a successful online hair care business, I have a specialist understanding of textured hair and the needs of those looking for help to better understand their hair type and how to look after it.
My passion and knowledge for nutrition & the health of hair, have helped many transition their damaged natural texture into the healthy hair they have always aspired to have. Extensive Ingredient knowledge of products and application techniques allows me to educate others and provide hair routines that work specifically for each individual.
I am honoured to have this role and be part of Jess’s legacy, which continues to live on. I can't wait to connect with you and talk all things hair!

Curly Hair Ritual - A Nighttime Routine
Protecting curls while sleeping has many benefits. Many protect their curls at night to extend longevity between wash days; however, even if that’s not your main goal, it’s still a good habit to get into for the health of your hair... Read more
The Bowl Method
This method helps maximise hydration and create defined curl/wave formation by repeatedly submerging the hair after washing... Read More
The Ultimate Wavy Styling Guide
Wavy hair is sometimes forgotten amongst the different types of curls and, in some ways, can be harder to care for. People are left unsure how to treat their hair or find it difficult to know exactly what it needs... Read More
Conditioners
All conditioners do the same thing, right? 🤷♀️
WRONG!! For a long time, we were led to believe all conditioners do the same job, mostly to detangle and make hair soft and shiny, so why give it another thought? However, what conditioner you use plays a big part in how your wash day turns out and how long it lasts!
There are some basic telltale signs that your hair will give you if it's not to its liking, like the ones below.
📌Curly Tip: Conditioner is crucial for all hair types, but not every conditioner will work for your hair type
Cleansers
You've probably heard me say this before, but I'm going to say it again.. cleansing your hair correctly and with the right cleanser for your hair type is crucial! If it's not done correctly, everything you do after this kind of doesn't matter.
So let's break down each of the cleansers so you can ensure you're reaching for the right one!
📌Curly Tip: Always double cleanse with your cleanser of choice and remove thoroughly; when you think you've got it all out, RINSE AGAIN!
Multiple Curl Patterns
If you have multiple curl patterns in your hair, I hear you! 🙋♀️
Most people with textured hair have more than one type of pattern on their heads and I'm one of them!
Your curl pattern can be identified by the shape of the strands of hair, whether they kink, curve, or wind around themselves into spirals—but that doesn't mean they're all the same.
Ingredients
Do the ingredients in products matter?
Each formulation of the product you're using should not only fulfill its primary role but should go some way to contributing to your hair health. In the same way, if you use products containing ingredients that are harmful to your hair, such as sulfates and drying alcohols, you will see a negative effect on your curls & waves.
Jess knew exactly what she was doing when formulating this line! 🙌 Products that help hair health while cleansing, conditioning, and styling.
Cream v Gel
The perfect duo 🧡
Before starting my curly journey, I was a one-and-done kind of girl when it came to styling, and the thought of using cream on my hair didn't seem right!
How wrong can one be?! 🤦♀️
There are many different styling products, but for most, cream and gel are essential for the end styling result and hair health.
No Fuss Refresh
Haven't got time to wash before your next event? No problem!
Refreshing your curls couldn't be easier with Awe Inspiraling Spray; I'm not a huge fan of full refreshes, so this is a great one-and-done product for when my curls need a pick-me-up.
📌Curly Tip: The mini bottle of this is great for touch-ups on the go, and a must for any party season! 💃
Starting Out
If you're new to the curly world, hi! 👋
The first month of switching up your hair care routine can often be one of the most challenging times on your healthy hair journey. You are going to have questions and come across some hurdles. But that's okay! It's all part of your journey and experimenting with what works for you and your curls.
Recognizing this stage is important as so many give up during the first month when they don't see instant results. My recent blog post addresses some of the most common issues people can experience when starting out on their journey.
Protein
Protein: does your hair love it or hate it?
Protein helps balance the moisture in your hair, keeping it healthy; as curlies, we all know the struggle with the fine line of balanced curls. The struggle is real!
However, as someone with hair that doesn't tolerate it well, I found a product that mimics all the benefits of protein without sending my curls into total freak-out and I want to share it with you!
Fragrance Free
Choosing between giving your curls the very best in haircare or making sure your sensitive skin is taken care of shouldn’t be a choice you have to make.
Did you know Jessicurl was one of the first curly hair brands to offer No Fragrance Added products back in 2002! That's right over 20 years ago! Jess had always been ahead of the game! 🙌
