Refreshing your curls between washes can sometimes seem like a chore, especially if you're out and about and time is not on your side. Here are three simple ‘less is more’ tips to keep your curls in check which can be done at home or away!

LIGHTLY MIST, DON'T SOAK!

You don’t want to oversaturate your hair when you need to get out the door quickly. Use a spray bottle to gently mist your curls with water, just enough to dampen, not soak them. Alternatively, using a curl reactivating spray that doesn’t need any water, like Awe, will provide your curls with enough hydration, moisture, and curl enhancement without adding ingredients that give hold. This refreshing spray will reactivate the product already in your hair!

AWAKEN YOUR ROOTS!

Not every refresh means using products to bring your curls back to life. A great way to add volume and separate curls for a fuller look is to use a hair pick. Lift sections of hair at the roots to pay attention to areas that need additional volume or definition. Gently separating any curl clumps will also add fullness.

PREP AHEAD

They say preparation is key, and this definitely applies to curls! To maintain curls overnight (which means less time spent on them in the morning!), take a few drops of a light oil like Oil Blend, gently warm it up on your fingertips, and go over the ends of your curls to prevent dryness or strand separation overnight. Also, consider sleeping on a satin or silk pillowcase to minimise friction and frizz, and use a satin scrunchie to gently pull your hair up to the top of your head while you sleep.
