Sunshine, sunscreen and all those lovely spring and summer activities, here we come! Soon as the sun comes out, us Curlies know we’re in for a new season of hairstyles - some to keep us from getting too hot, others to protect our hair from those scorching UV rays and everything in between! Here’s a few styles you can do with your curls to keep them bouncing all season:
Braided Half-up, Half-down: I’m not sure about you guys, but this is probably one of my favorite cutie, curly hairstyles ever! A simple three-strand braid on each side, pulled back and held in place by the sweetest little clip? Yes, please! Not only will curls stay out of your face while preventing oil build up and sweat around the roots, but you’ll also look so, so cute!
Braids, Braids, Braids!: The favorite protective hairstyle of many Curlies, a braid - whether it be french, fishtail, or any kind - keeps hair safe from many environmental factors like humidity, UV rays, weather, preventing breakage or damage that may occur to our delicate strands. It’s also a staple for creating waves in looser curl patterns, which is its own fun little vibe!
Half-up in a Bun: Similar to the braided half-up, half-down, but with a spunky little twist! Spruce up your regular half up with a bun in the back and pair it with your favorite clip or a ribbon to bring it all together. I love this look so much because of the depth and dimension it adds to any look - a super cute, protective look to keep curls at bay!
Put It All Up: This is definitely the simplest, quickest go-to hairstyle in the book - hence why it’s a classic! With a claw clip of choice - or maybe you prefer a silk scrunchie - gather those curls up, twist and throw them into the perfect messy bun or up-do and call it a day! Now, you’re free from the sweat and oil build up at your roots while also protecting your hair from environmental factors, too! Win, win!
