If you struggle to get your curls to last past day one, I've got you!

Hair spray can sometimes be overlooked in the curly world, but a good one can be versatile by providing some grit and extra hold when needed, helping with frizz, preserving length and body, and keeping hair under control in the rain.

It is also a great styler for wavy or finer-haired Curlies to create hold without weighing the hair down.

Consider an alcohol-free hair spray like Aquavescent Hair Spray to protect your curls. A good hair spray should dry quickly but be flexible, making curly hair more manageable.

Here are three ways hair spray can be added to your wash day routine:

  1. An extra styler - After applying all stylers to wet hair, hold the hair spray a few inches away and spritz lightly on both sides of your head. You can also flip your head upside down and spray the crown and length. This will provide an extra ‘coating’ to your curls, further locking in that gel cast we need for longevity.
  2. Seal those curls in place - If you prefer to use hair spray on dry hair once your cast starts forming, add hair spray before scrunching out the crunch and just before you finish diffusing. I love to do this, then finish drying my hair on a cold air setting for the last five minutes to seal everything.
  3. A great finisher and volume maker - if you want a great way to finish off your styling routine and lock everything in place, spritz your entire head and then spritz a hair pick to add and encourage volume from your roots.

Defined curls that last all day long, extra hold but zero crunch!
